Multi-market Magento implementation to meet the client’s unique requirements.
NPW were keen to update their outdated e-commerce site in order to move their base of smaller trade customers online, minimise time and resource required for telephone ordering, and maximise the ease of route to purchase. As NPW do not sell to retail customers directly, it was key that the solution was highly secure and that all customer registrations were stringently verified before access to the site was granted. The solution also needed to account for multiple currencies and variations in product range across multiple markets.
We worked with NPW and their incumbent design team to fully scope, specify and develop a solution that would meet NPW’s specific requirements. Magento was selected as the most appropriate platform, with a significant number of customisations to account for the closed user base and unique customer management requirements. This included modifications to the checkout process to allow for options to pay on account/by pro forma invoice as well as directly by card, the implementation of multiple pricing options for products (per unit and by minimum order quantity) and separate versions of the product and site content pre- and post-login. Separate Magento stores were created within a single CMS instance to feed local pricing to customers in the UK, USA and Europe.
The new site contributed to a significant increase in sales, to the degree that the entire investment into the development of the website was recouped in uplift in sales in less than one month.
Since initially launching pre-Christmas 2014, we have worked with NPW on an ongoing basis to implement their new brand across the site and to develop various new features for customers. In 2017, we worked with the client to integrate all product and order details with their NAV stock-management system.
